John (Floyd), Pete (Ganders), Matt, (Mbardeen), Galina, Jamie (Jaam) and I had a great day today on our first London GTG!

Hopefully most of us will have some pictures to upload and share with anyone interested very soon.

We took a trip on the London Eye, went for lunch in China Town, wandered from there to Covent Garden and on to Trafalgar Square and spent some time enjoying photographs at the National Portrait Gallery, including the new-ish Lichfield display and the Seydou Keita/ Malick Sidibe exhibition I enjoyed a few months back. From there we walked back up to Leicester Square area for tea/coffee scones before hopping on the tube to London Bridge and walking (and photographing) the walk towards Waterloo. A short way past the Golden Hinde (boat) we were waylaid by a pub!

All absolutely exhausted now but looking forward to another GTG sometime soon!

THANKS everyone for coming!
:o)

Yes, I agree. It was great fun and nice to have to wait on other photographers for a change!

After a furious 12 hours of processing: here's my take on the day!

Hope you all enjoy these pics as much as I enjoyed the day.

Well done. I like the Jubilee line shot best - plan to retun there when I can. I have uploaded pictures on my computer this morning, had a look... I really miss my Sony 717, because the image quality of Olympus 720 is so much worse.

I look at your website and it's very well done ... just sometimes would llike your pictures a little larger.
I love you Pyramide du Louvre in your infrared project (not becasue I 'm french). I love how the oblique lines define the content of the pictures and I like the dreamy look i has (did you add some blur effect ? I could not see well). Félicitations particulières pour cette photo là !!!

Hope you like 'em.

Love the contractual obligation shot :-) and that's the best shot of the PWC building I've seen - never been able to see that, excellent work.

Really intersting to compare London Eye photos - I have one on my portfolio somewhere too.

Looks like I'll have to grow a beard if I come to the next one - even Katie seems to have one ; )
Can't tell if Kavey does in that shot though

Thanks for the kind comments Ed - but which one is the PWC building? :-)

Thanks. I am planning to redesign the gallery part of the site. At the moment it aims at 800x600 resolution, so the photo sizes are 350 or 400 pixels to ensure that the user does not have to scroll down and the navigation at the bottom is still visible.

Good stuff floyd!

That's a great shot of the Buskers at Covent Garden. Wish I had wandered around a bit more there!

I'll put up some pictures I took with a proper camera - just as soon as I've developed the film and run it through the negative scanner :-)

Oy, careful, matey! What do you call "proper" camera on the digital photography forum?

LOL = he's winding you up!

Galina did you upload any of your pics to your site yet?

I just finished processing a whole lot of mine but can't decide for most shots whether I prefer them in BW or colour. So I don't want to post any links until I narrow the number of images down. I have about 40+ images I've played with but pretty much each one is saved both in colour and BW so I really need to weed most of them out before sharing!

Sooon!
