This is what happens when my husband is driving. If I were in charge, we would have pulled off on a side road and captured this awesome sunset.

Oh well...just thought I'd share what might have been.

Can't really complain, he got me a new 20-D! Next time we're pulling over!

Hmm, he buys you a 20D and then doesn't let you use it properly?! Shame on him. :-)

Beautiful sky!

No. Actually, this was the day before the 20D arrived. I guess he knew there were better days to come.

next time - suddenly yell out in a frantic voice - "stop the car - NOW" as if you're either going to be sick, or are freaked out. When he stops, jump out quickly (with your camera) - if he loves you at all he won't take off on ya. Meanwhile you'll get that shot.

Here's a one hander @ 85 mph on Interstate 76 in Colorado while driving. It's a liitle blurred but not bad considering the circumstances I don't think.

Wow! That's pretty impressive. But if my memory serves me...isn't I76 a two handed highway? And 85mph...Man, you're crazy;^)

Really cool shot. I love Colorado sunsets. Thanks for sharing it.

taking pictures out of a moving car is a skill completely separate from any other kind of photography... but when one drives a long way, there's a lot of stuff to see and never enough time to stop for it all! I went on a monthlong roadtrip recently and took about a bazillion on-the-road shots, and this is one of my favorites--

Shot out a car windown at about 20mph,

So, greatandsmall, you've left the point & shoot club!

Wow guys...those are all great moving shots. Damon, the blurred grass really does create an interesting effect.

Sadly Slippy, I must move on. I wasn't sure how to break it to you...I'm hoping we can still be friends. I sure do have an affection for that little A80. I'll especially miss being able to compose shots in the viewfinder. I'm keeping it for work and fishing trips, so I might still post an image once in a while from it.

I have a photo to post here, how do I do this? I have also found it interesting to take photos while driving...would love to share one!

I guess we can still be friends. :-P

That flexible display is the greatest, & I'm refusing to buy a dSLR until they come with one as an option to use. That's my excuse anyway.

Of course, now the pressure is REALLY on for you to get a high placing. I'll be watching!

I'm scared to death of this thing...So many buttons and dial thingies. I'm half-way through the manual and my head is about to explode! It will be a while before I can even get a decent snapshot out of it.

photom1946 Here's a tutorial on posting images to forums. If that doesn't help, post again and I'll explain it.

Kevin, How is it that you can find a sexual innuendo in everything? ;^0 You must be a Scorpio?

One thing I have discovered is, when you are travelling with your husband, most shots WILL be taken while moving! We just drove from Anchorage, Alaska to Arkansas. Most of the time, I got to stop and take pictures only when the boys (thankfully we have 3) were screaming to pee! However, I had already informed him that when we saw a bear we were stopping. Period! Thankfully he knew I meant business. After 4 years in Alaska without seeing a single bear, I was mad! However, with three boys jumping on me saying "Mom, it is going to eat you" I still didn't manage to get any good pictures!

photographers spouses are a whole breed of themselves. it would take us 2 days to just get across town if we could stop so it might be best if the "nonphotographer" does all the driving ;)

I just had a road trip to the smokey mountains to pick up something my dad sent down with a friend and as we were driving 75mph on I75 near cove lake state park TN we came up behind this vehicle and i just had to snap off a few rounds at it. whered that unusual car thread go??? lol

LOL, that's what I love about those tiny thumbnails, they hide the wrinkles. Libra...that was my next guess.

PS is that your stuff on your website link? That's pretty funny (and obscene). I'll have to check it out more when I'm in the right frame of mind.

The Best Page In The Universe

Unfortunately it is not my website but I find it VERY useful in ALL subjects. I also like the funny parts.

It's pretty good...here's the link.

Edit: I guess I shouldn't complain. At least I was moving.

Edit: Here's another one on the same theme by Nikolai1024
