I don't know if any of you guys have the Dell laptop Inspiron6000, but I just got mine and I have a big problem with it. Pictures, including thumbnails, seem to be pixelated. It's not very clear at all. Icons and letters, seem to be sharp, but pictures and images aren't.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix my screen problem? I tried looking at the control panel but nothing seems to be working. Any advice would be great. thanks guys.

Do you use something like AOL internet speed-up? This will automatically reduce image quality to make them quicker to download.

Um, i'm at home right now, and my dad is using SBC. I'm not sure what kind of connection though, but pages seem to be loading really fast, so i'm guessing it's probably a broadband connection.

Check out Notebook Forums in the dell section, I'm sure you'll find an answer.

Right-click on the desktop, select "Properties", click the "Settings" tab. Look at the "Color Quality" setting, make sure it is set to at least 24-bit color (typically, 16-bit, 24-bit and 32-bit are the choices, and 24-bit may not appear).
If it was set to 16-bit, you should see a big improvement in how photos appear when you change it.

Yeah, I've already checked and it's at 32 bit. Thanks though =).

I know this one! Owned 2 dell laptops, the problem is in the video settings, they have the dpi setting up higher than normal.

Go to display properties, right click desktop, properties.
Go to settings, top right tab.
Click on Advanced
Change the DPI setting to Normal. I believe it is one up from what it is set to right now. (I'll check when I get off of work.)
Click ok
Click ok

Don't remember if it requires a restart or not. That should fix the problem, also there are some ATI settings that might need to be changed if that doesn't do it. They are in the same advanced area.
