I just had a very strange thought, well, not strange for me, but I think you all might agree.
How about a viewer titles the shot challenge? You take the photo, bizzare as you can and voters title the shot in comments. Prolly get alot more comments on average, plus we could really get some silly photo and title combinations.
Anybody game?

I think that one would be a lot of fun. It would kinda be like a candid or something like that where you could do anything and leave the title blank. Great idea.

I think this would be a great idea. It's time for a "free" challenge anyway. What I would suggest though is that it would not be a competitive, anonymous challenge, so that we can freely discuss during the week in the forums the crazy titles we have gotten :)

The only limitation I would place is that the submitter does not reveal the actual intent of his/her picture during the week of voting/titling. This is in order not to dampen the creative flow of anyone who hasn't titled yet.

Absolutely! Discussions would be great, but you are right, we would still need to encourage the creative juices!

Hey, Drew, are you reading this?????

This is truly a great idea, provided we can discuss our titles received freely during the week of titling and it would be a nice break from the week in, week out challenge routine.

Are you there, Drew? DREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW. Where are'st thou, Drew?

This sounds great to me... It could even be done informally in the forums and not confined to a specific week. Just create a thread titled, "You title it!" and post your picture there... Maybe we could have a seperate forum section just for these?

I think that might work better than having 250 shots to name all in one week :) Also, the site isn't set up to take comments without scores. Just a logistical thought, but however it goes down, I'm in :)

This could be a lot of fun. Would be a great break from the routine of discussing whether a challenge is met or not.
It can set up on pbase where the account name and password is shared. The Canon challenge on dpreview works this way. People could post their own pictures, then the viewers can leave titles in the comment area which is visible to all.

I was actually thinking in terms of a somewhat general challenge topic, from the admins, with part of the challenge being no titles. Voting would still be the thing to do, but titles in the comments would be an extra request from the Site. I'm not advocating a change in the site in any way (less work for the Admins whom have enough on their plate now anyway!) Just a change in the way we submit and the way voters comment (encouraged to add a title of their choosing, but not forced).

This would help to satisfy those that would like a title-less challenge, plus maybe rock the worlds of those that critize title makers, plus just maybe teach a little in the way of title creation skills, too. (Just thought of this...might give the trolls a bit of a creative outlet and help identify the rascals, too!)

Can anyone else think of a way that might product # of votes = # of comments? (or even close?)
