What in the world is this thing? At first I thought it was a hummingbird, but we get hummingbirds here sometimes, and this thing doesn't seem to be one. Its wings didn't move as fast, but it did seem to be able to fly up/down/forward/backward...

So sorry for the horrible picture quality...

Here's a photo from another photog on here of a hummingbird...that thing was definately not a hummingbird...???



hrmm, maybe mine was just a huge, oversized moth?

I THINK it's called a hummingbird moth, not exactly sure though.

That looks like it in that picture...any clue why they're called hummingbird moths, any relation other than that they are a huge moth and fly backwards, etc.
