I think I am pretty well screwed, but I figured I would run this by the forum for fresh thoughts. Saturday morning the hard drive in my laptop gave up the ghost. Since then, I have found an enclosure, and plugged it into the USB port on my new system.
After doing this, the computer recognizes that there is a drive there, in this case "L", but shows no data what so ever. Properties are 0 bites used, 0 bites available. 2 different recovery programs do not see the drive at all, nor do Windows or Norton. A last ditch attempt to re-format failed, with out even a dialog box popping up.
Am I correct in guessing that the drive is bound for the circulr file, or is there anything else worth trying? (I know, dumb question, but I'm grasping at straws here.)
