Is any information ever shown regarding which photos have been disqualified and why? It looks like about 7 or so have been removed from the current challenge. With so many photos here, I can't determine which ones have been removed...

IMO, disqualification ought to be kept between the photographer and admins unless s/he wants to bring it up here.

I justed noticed the male/female in front of the mini blinds is gone. I'm not sure what the others are.

Nope, still here.

I agree that the disqualification should be kept between the admins and the photographer. Why bring up something that could possibly be an embarrassment to the disqualified person? Also, for the person entering a photo just to get attention, why give him any more?

I may be wrong, but I think the photo Shiiizzzam is refering to is the "Prisoner of Society" photo. That is the one I noticed as being gone.

I thought there were both gone but I see now the other is there. Sorry.

Yeah, the prisoner of society is gone, as is the one titled "Jeanna" I believe. There must be more, but I don't remember them. I agree that explanations of disqualified pictures be kept private.

Most of the photographs disqualified were because they were taken out of the date range. One was disqualified as a result of numerous disqualification requests from users.

If a photograph was disqualified due to multiple requests from users, I am curious to know why it was disqualified. If there was something wrong with the photo that made users request disqualification, I would want to know so that I don't duplicate that problem in the future with my photos.

If this is the case, the grounds that disqualified the photo should be added to the 'rules'...

Maybe I should ask the generic question: If enough users request disqualification on the grounds of personal preferences, is the photo disqualified? I'm not trying to start a censorship argument but I'm curious if interpretations of 'tasteful' are capable of disqualifying a photograph...

Most likely the reason a submission would be disqualified by voters would be failure to adhere to the topic. The one in question, I'm not sure about though. It had curves, though to me, that was not the lasting impression of the shot. There may be something else behind it. I don't think it is censorship due to taste though, hope not anyway.

Hmmmm, that is an interesting point. I didn't notice until now that there were a couple of female nudes that have dissapeared from the contest. Personally, I thought they were tastefully done and commented on the lighting and quality. Even though it got a laugh out of me, I came closer to being repelled by the pubic hair on the toilet. But even that wasn't enough for me to want to disqualify it. In fact, I gave it a couple of extra points for photo quality and originality.

The only thing that would make me want to disqualify a photo would be for it to not fit into the challenge category in any way or BLATANT sexual or violent images.

Nudity was NOT a factor in any disqualifications.

The user-requested disqualified image did not meet the challenge criteria -- and was even questionable as to whether it was taken with a digital camera.

Drew, My submission last week was disqualified because it was out of the time frame specified. That's cool, I just didn't understand the rules. My stats show that it received 5 comments from voters. I assumed they were disqualification requests. Now reading this post I wonder if that's true because I think my sumission met the criteria, except for exposure date, and it was obviously taken with a digital camera. My question is, "do comments not show up on a profile page if the photo is disqualified? If so, why not? It could be instructive to see what people are saying.
