Photograph something that shows your, or someone elses, material wealth in your town or city. Big homes, Rolls Royces, piles of money, tycoons, movie stars, you name it, knock us out. Basically, the opposite of the poverty challenge!

(This was inspired by my walk through an area here with some multimillion dollar homes with million dollar views--will post some later as people start posting pics to this thread as they do nowadays with challenge suggestions. I know this area isn't as affluent as many around the country, so I just thought it would be fun to see some from everyone's area.)

Alternate challenge: "1 Million Dollars (or your monetary equivalent."

Show us photographically what 1 million dollars will buy in the area were you live.

I don't know - $1 mill in my city gets you 1597 sq ft, 3 bd/2ba. It's near the water, but that's its only advantage. Oops - make that $1.1 mill! ;)

Here, "affluence" is when you can go to Wal-Mart and buy Del Monte instead of Sam's Choice, and your car is less than 5 years old, and your dogs get the Alpo instead of Ol' Roy. I guess I could go get a picture of a dairy or maybe one of the horse ranches, but there's just not much VISIBLE money 'round these parts.

Jami, that's why I was also thinking about the alternate challenge: what does 1 million buy (in houses, or otherwise). I know if I compared a house in Palo Alto with one for $1 million dollars here, that would be quite a contrast!

Laurie, if that's affluence in your area, than that works for the challenge. Maybe you can find a BMW in the Walmart parking lot ;)
