Lemme explain something about my family entry
.

But first, this is in no way a complaint about the score or placement or comments. It scored and placed where I felt it should (possibly higher), but some of the comments made me want to respond.

1) This is NOT an "autobiographical" picture. If you read the comments, you will see that I was just setting some things up, etc. etc. My husband (nards656) and I are very, very happily married, and we are "holding" on for many more reasons than just our son. For one, we like being married to eachother. :)

2) No offense was meant in any way to anyone that has been through/is going through a divorce. It happens. It is sad, a lot of times, but it happens.

3) I know some marriages that did "hold on" for the sake of the kids, or separated then gave it another shot and happily reconciled. Unfortunately, I also know that this is the exception, not hte rule.

4) The only story the fingernails are telling is that it is time I break down and get my nails done. :) That color happened to coordinate with my clothes that day. The original plan was to redo the shot with a bit more "contrasty" color.

To those that liked the shot, thank you.
To those that didn't, sorry. Maybe next time.

Oh yea, I did try it in bw, but my bw conversion process sucks at this time (I'm workin' on it), so I took a chance and went with color.

Hah... I thought I saw evidence of a debilitating disease in the nails, sorry. That's how I read the image, considering the title, and I found it very poignant.

I am confused why you have to explain anything.

Scratches head.

There may be (evidence), but I don't know about it yet. :)

I don't think that you have anything to explain or clarify. Your shot OBVIOUSLY invoked a lot of emotion inside of many viewers. That is exactly what art is supposed to do.

Great shot!

I looked at that one and was going to write a comment thinking it was about getting divorced, but then I though I may be misinterpreting, so I just gave it a 5 and moved on.

No explanation necessary, but thanks for explaining so people don't think you are divorcing or dying of a fingernail disease. ;-)
