How about re-visiting black & white? It'd be a refreshing change :-)

There has got to be some better challenge suggestions than the string of colour ideas that we are currently pursuing? Black and white is fine, but perhaps we could save it for a little bit, so we can exercise some new and fresh creative approaches beyond this constant theme.

Perhaps the significant drop in challenge submissions is indicating a message that should be recognized, especially when compared to the amazing response volumes for the past few recent challenges.

Am I alone in this thinking? Maybe, I simply have a short attention span and require greater stimulation? Yes, it is probably just me!

No, you are correct. We need to get off this color kick!!!

I don't know, I was hoping we could do the colors of light, then all black then all white, then black and white, then we could do a puke green challenge, ooo wouldn't that be fun. Then after that I was hoping we could do a challenge where we use the colors of your nation then we can bring back american flags. hmm after that we could do like new colors, make up a color and use that color in a photograph.

I mean the possibilities are endless. I am glad they finally decided to start going through them all. I hope puke green is next, I have some great ideas.

Glad I wasn't the only one groaning when I saw the new challenge. I was stuck for ideas for 'Primary' so I'll be really scraping the barrel by the time I get round to 'Complimentary'!

I'd love to see a B&W challenge, mainly because I'm so bad at it and need the practice.

I'm wondering if anyone is even reading the forum, there has been some good ideas mentioned, and seems all there is right now is colors, it wouldn't have been so bad if they had been spread out over a period of time and not all bunched together, I wasn't and still am not too keen on the idea of a challenge centered on religion but it would actually be better than all the color challenges at once! I'm here thinking we have had primary colors, secondary colors and now complimentary colors, which is next tertiary or earthtones?

I get the impression someone is trying to teach us all color theory, lol.

I commend the idea. But I wish it was being done in a somewhat more structured fashion, with more supporting information :)..

I liked the glass concept, and would encourage more material based challenge concepts in the future!

ENOUGH WITH THE COLOURS! They say variety is the spice of life. Let's move on to something else. PLEEEAAAASE!

I know I don't enter at the moment (see bio) but I'd love to see some concept based challenges.

We've had a lot of fixed object challenges (such as candy and glass) and a lot of colour challenges.

Concept challenges would be grest to view, vote and comment on.

Dreaming
Hallucination
Success
International/ Global
Life
Love

etc

I think those would be fantastic challenges! Would allow a lot of creativity which has been somewhat missing with the color challenges.

Thing is that the color challenges, except for primary, which required all three colors to be in, these are totally creative challenges.

I mean, think about it: they're open challenges - shoot WHATEVER you want, as long as it's one of the colors (in secondary), OR has complementary colors (in complementary).

I love the freedom that gives me! :)

I'm sure they are, but there are, after all, 52 weeks in a year. That's at least 104 challenges. I'm sure I'll survive this color phase, and I'm sure I'll probably learn something--even though I'm slightly colorblind!

(Luckily, I have a wife who let's me know what's what with my color photos!)

I think colour is harder than it may first seem - it IS a very open challenge, in terms of sucbject matter - but at the same time it's not just a case of taking anything which happens to be the right colour; the key - in my mind - is to take an image that is ABOUT the colours but isn't just paint, crayons or fruit/vegetables. (No offense intended, there are some great paint, crayons or fruit/vegetable entries).

Oddly enough - I like some of the fixed object challenges too - but not all. Pencil remains one of my all-time favourites, and is a challenge which really lead to some incredibly creativity. Candy remains one of my very least favourite...

Well, that's to you. :-D.

There's nothing that says in the challenge topic it has to be "about" the color.

It's a one week challenge; don't put so much pressure on your self :) ..

Yep, of course that's to me - everything I write is merely my opinion! LOL

No pressure on me - I ain't entering!

Just in terms of retaining interest in terms of viewing results - I don't think the results of colour are as interesting overall as other challenges have been.

I think that's partly because many people (not all) just look for anything that happens to be the right colour and take a picture of it without considering whether the resulting image is a captivating image in it's own right.

But that's just my thoughts. Feel absolutely free to call me an harsh old curmudgeon!

:-D

I think these challenges are a challenge for some. It is for me. I tried so hard with my picture. It is not a studio shot and that is tough for me. I think we should all stop complaining about the challenges and get our brain a cranken and take some pictures.

My son Isaac helps me out with that too...
