Which one is the best digital camera model of the world at present from your point of view? And Why?

Canon EOS 10d, 20d, Mark II, Nikon D70, D70s ………..I am just confused. And U ?

Nikon D2X

I would choose the EOS-1D Mark II because of it's shooting speed. 8.5fps is amazing.

Nikon has a new D50 out now, too. They're regressing, lol.

You would need to see the sales figures to draw that conclusion

The best cam in the wrong hands, is just junk. Proven here on this site many times.

I don't think so. With a capture rate of TWO SECONDS PER IMAGE, ISO ratings of only 50-400, and not really that many more pixels than a D2X or 1Ds mkII, I don't think it's the best by any means. I think the D2X and 1Ds mkII are the best cameras in the world. If you own one and disagree, I'll be happy to take it off you hands. :)

D100, D70, D50..that's what I meant. Logically you'd think it would go the other way.

Canon A40...but honestly, I think most Canon shooters drool over the 1dmkII if they shoot sports or news and 1dsmkII if they shoot landscapes and stock.

Best for what?
Going deep sea diving...none of the above.
Serreptiously taking shots in the potty (not that you should...) - none of the above.
Best value - lest spent for best versatility?
best picture?

There is no one best camera.

My opinion on the best? The one i am using at the moment!

I totally agree with Prof Fate. I think most are loyal to their camera type. Thats why we chose them :)

Ok so what's the best one for...

Auto-focus. (from macro to fireworks)
From the last couple of challenges I'm finding it extremely to focus by sight ( bifocals and viewfinders coupled with odd angles and a mediocre camera make it a BIT difficult)

For LESS than 1500 with enough options for lenses, filters, accessories to do a very good job?

Epson R-D1 digital rangefinder.
Looks pretty expensive until you are researching lenses to use with it (Leica EktaSummiNoctacrommelom, Voightlander, Zeiss etc etc etc).
And did I mention that it is manual focus only. :)

(The samples you see from it on the DPC camera page are not made with this camera!)

Well, if fps is the criteria, then there is this camera. Granted, it's only 2MP, but it is 117 times faster than the Mark II.
