Yeah, we all think ours "should have" done better, but am curious if
I simply chose the wrong one or did I miss the mark all together?

----- As submitted -------------- Alternate 1 ------------- Alternate 2 --------

I was kind of happy with these, but curious why it ended up at the 45% mark. Thanks in advance.

Your submission was the best of the three I think, but I'm can't really tell what it is.

i dunno, i kinda like alternate 2 the most, it has that sort of swirling aspect to it

is this from a fish tank?

You picked the right one... Having fun with that gothic glow, huh? One more thing we got in common, brother...

Robt.

i think u picked the right one. I am one of the 3 that voted it a 10. i thought it was a great photo and portrayed a fantasy world to a T!

I kinda actually like Alternate 2 better than the original submission. Kinda looks like giant gaping jaws of some aquatic monster!

I think what hurt it was a need for some focal object. I mean, in truth...you need a little plastic Snork being eaten by the red ominous jaws... then it'd be an easy 10!

;)

You picked the right one.

Perhaps reviewers found this to be more abstract than fantasy, and perhaps they were not all that attracted to your focus technique and they felt the colors were a little weak.

Your submission was best of your series in my oppinion, but I think you missed the mark with this one. There's not really a main focal point of interest and the image is quite flat because of this.

I like the border though. :-)

I agree that you chose the right one. The first alternate looks a little too weird in the upper left corner, and the second alternate really bothers me with too much black. A closer crop on the second alternate might be cool though.

Thanks all.

Seems my dartboard submission choice guesstimator was right based on percentages.
Time ta clean the tank now. The algea growth was getting so cool looking that I didn't mess
with mother nature for over 6 months, hoping to find a good use for it here.

Mision accomplished and off to don the goggles and break out the pressure washer - just kidding.
:)
