I'm not and I'm not poor, neither rich, they're expensive to purchase and in use, at least they are in my country.
I think a lot of people out there don't have one either.
I've a very simple cell phone, using it just for one purpose, to be able to call for help when needed.

I will be entering challenges with my new Ericsson k750i.
The quality is excellent for a phone.
Only got it yesterday but here`s a couple of test snaps.
Only resized, straight from phone/camera.

Do remember, that this is "Digital photography contest". Not "Digital camera-like-toy contest" :D

Not bad for a cell phone.

Don't forget that cameras which do not store EXIF are ineligible for use in challenges. I'm not sure whether your phone records EXIF or not, but to date I am not aware of any cell phones that do.

Yes the Sony Ericsson has full EXIF data :)
Can you add it to the list of cameras please.

I always liked the idea of a phone camera challenge..... and have entered a picture in one challenge with my LG6000 (still listed as one of my cameras) before the days when exif was required software for picture taking machines on this site. These small cams are great and I too think they are capable and that they be allowed. dpc should have a challenge of pictures made from these little gems, especially now since exif is becomming available on them.

I know :) I wouldn`t enter if i thought the quality wasn`t up to par.
I think it won`t be long before someone ribbons with a camera/phone.

I have a camera on my phone, but no way to get it from the phone to the computer. Sprint wants you to pay $15 a month for unlimited internet and email (where you can email the pics) but I think that's a bit much for crappy pictures.

Video cameras and phones that also take pictures have never been that good, but I have to admit the daisy pictures listed above are pretty decent in quality. Why cant companies stop trying to sell an all in one device?

I wish that they would simply build more features into phones without cameras...

There are some that work in facilities that will not even allow you to bring in a phone with a camera. ( I work in a secure data center ) so I have to suffer with a p.o.s cell because all of the good ones have cams.

Of course the reason they push all of the cam phones is like Deapee said to sell you other "services" to support the crappy pictures

No mobile phone. Although a lot of people around here use them, because of the mountains there are a lot of places they just don't work.

If I glue my camera to my cell phone does it count as a camera phone??? or would that be a phone camera???

I currently have the LG 6000. Shots from this are not great. The Sony Ericsson are nice!

A site that shows off photos from primarily camera phones (as well as digicams and even film) is Moblog.

No contests - but it's fun to post photos there. You can get highlited and rated.
