I have to honestly say that the Icelandic participants involved with this web site are truly creative people.

There has to be a reason. what is the common denominator? Is the water there better than our chemically rich water here in the U.S.A.?

Do we as Americans have not enough time on our hands to compete? Is technology so influential in our live that we can not do as good a job as the Icelandic cats?

If this was the Olympics, I would be betting my last penny on Iceland. i think that their ability to think out of the box, and take beautiful pictures is showing us Americans up.

I am no differant. My pix are average at best. Whats the deal?

Thats it.....my mind is made up.....I was going to retire to Aruba, or somewhere in the Carrabean, but not now. Iceland is where I have to migrate to, and retire at so that I can learn there ways and pick up some tips.

I will be the only American Lakota Icelander photographer in about 20 years. By then I should have my camera upgrade, and a surplus supply of Vodka to keep me warm.

My husband smiled from ear to ear as I read him this post. "Duh!" He said with a twinkle in his eye. "It's genetics - we're perfect!" Of course when I was first going out with him, my friends joked with me that Icelanders were inbred. Well I guess it is all the same thing in a way ;-)

But you are right - Iceland would be a lovely place to retire too - it is the most gorgeous place I have ever been.

I hope you get some comments from "real" Icelanders and not just ones by marriage - but they're (hopefully) asleep at this time. But if they're like Magnus, they're probably up working or partying!

I just read that Icelandic women earn 66% of their Nation's University Degrees.

They're all gorgeous and they live in a gorgeous place... go figure. Of course, talent probably has a little bit to do with it. :-)

Of course living in one of the most incredibly beautiful and dramatic places on earth doesn't hurt either. Apparently I've lived abroad from my native Iceland too long because my photos are distinctly mediocre.

Here's another thread wondering the same thing.

Then mk, If my grey matter with all of the missing, and dead brain cells could come up with this conclusion, then there has to be something to it.

Maybe there should be a shoot off to see which Icelandic is the best, then we can really ooooohhhhh and ahhhhhhhh.

Back to drinking.
