Hi,
The rules say, "Shoot a photo that would make a great postcard for the city or state you live in. Have fun!"

Now, does it absolutely have to be a postcard of where you live? I have a shot, but where I live, it wouldn't make much sense using my location. Thanks.

I guess as long at is taken within challenge rules, no one is going to come by and check you actually live there!! I took mine about 3 kms from where I live, does that count me out too?

Strictly speaking I don't live in a city or a state, what do I do? ; )

Nobody is going to know during voting that you went somewhere else to get you your shot, and I doubt anyone would kick up a fuss if they found out later. I find it hard to beleive that there's nowhere in your entire state, which is probably much larger than my country, that you could go to get a shot though!

The wording of 'I have a shot' worries me a little. It was taken within the last week wasn't it?

How 'bout me? I live in a state of confusion.

I don't think so. I traveled to a city about a hour away for a shot I'm pleased with. The voters won't know whether you live there or not so if there is any complaining it will be done after the challenge :-)

My profile states my location as "Earth"... Since the shuttle is grounded, I'm pretty safe with where ever I shoot this week :)

Hi Guys,

Since I was so busy at work this last week I didnt get a chance to take a photo for this challenge (as much as I wanted to).

This is a photo I took the previous week during the shoot for the multi-image challenge. For interests sake, I would like some feedback.

Sydney Sunset

Thanks!

Done voting on postcards, the best choice of photos so far IMHO!

I dunno.. I just finished voting, and I think I liked about 3 out of the whole 107. I wasn't all that impressed really.

I think the voters need their head examined. The postcard shot I used would be used for the city here, and there's no comments to point out what's wrong or what they like and I"m still only getting average scores.

Sometimes I just wanna give up altogether.

The postcard images either you like or you don't when you first look at them a few of them stood out as being exceptional, several just made you think of vacation photos, and then there were those that were good but just didn't work for you. Mine probably falls into the last catagory, and just doesn't do much for anyone as a postcard but probably would do really well as a landscape

I'm not sure I understand the difference between a postcard and a good landscape... what am I missing? :)

i dont know if there's any real difference. but in general, for a shot to make it to a postcard, it has to be of commercial quality. that's my guess.

There are some great, great postcards in this challenge.

Many of them are not landscapes - they don't have to be the same thing. The best ones I think evoke something about the place that they represent.

Hi,
I guess I'll give away my identity of my photo, but I thought last weeks contest gave me some great ideas of a nice postcard. My entry includes more than one image, and I am receiving comments and subsequent low ratings as others seem this does not qualify as a postcard?? I have asked for an Admin note, still pending.

I thought it made a nice postcard, but..............??

I'm having fun here, that's what counts.
