Just wanted to make a quick post to intoduce myself to the rest of the group. I have been reading these forums (and lots others) for the past few months or so and have gotten some great knowledge from you guys. Up until now I have olnt played around with a P&S, but have loved it. Because of the enjoyment I have gotten ouf of photography over the past months, I went ahead and traded in my Canon SD300 for a brand new Rebel XT which just arrived today. Now I can finally learn what photography is all about.

I'm definitely looking forward to jumping into this wacky world of DSLR and hope to get some pictures up here soon.

Now all that's left is to figure out what all these buttons and knobs on my camera do! ;)

Welcome to a great, addictive, opinionated, loving, supportive, critical, and encouraging group (as I'm sure you know if you've been monitoring the forum posts for several months).

I look forward to seeing more of your work! :-)

Let's see some of your stuff. I'm new too and have learned so much over the past month.

Get ready for criticism, but you'll also get some kudos along the way to keep your confidence level up.

I'm watching............. Judy

Welcome Jason! You won't be disappointed. If you spend the $25 to be a member, I guarantee it to be the best $25 you'll ever spend on anything camera-related. ;)

Welcome! Don't ever be afraid to ask questions, comments, or opinions. Also, don't forget to look in the archives because when we were new, most of us had the same questions that I think you might! :)

Thanks guys.... I actually look forward to the criticism as its the only thing that will help me. I plan on loading a few pictures I took using my P&S later on tonight. Also got some shots I took last night during my first ever session with a DSLR.

I'll re-bump this post myself later when they are posted.

Well, finally got a few pictures up... including my very first picture even taken with a DSLR. Persoanlly I don;t think it is THAT bad considering a few weeks ago I didn't even know what an f-stop was! I think I'm hooked.
