I am putting together a years worth of pictures of my son, one for each month as he has grown, to give to his mother. And going to make it a 16x20" to be printed here.
Would like any opinions on it. I have links to 2 different versions. One is a gray background (would need to change text color I think), and the other in is just white.
Any input would be great!! Different colors, etc.? Some of the pictures may be changed and he is not 1 yr until June...so haven't figured if I am going to just have it printed minus a picture from his birthday (about a 6x8" in the space in the center and work it in after) or give her a 8x10 printed on my crappy printer...shoot the birthday and then send off for the whole thing?????
White Version
Grey Version
Oh yes...and I think I am going to have it framed like a museum type print. I am not fond of giant fancy weird frames. Or if I can find one...more like a "child" frame.
Guess I need to get a new table saw and just start making my own frames again. Hmmmmmm.

thanks in advance

I like the grey but not the gold lettering.

I think you could maybe do a bit better for the collage effect but it looks nice as it is too.

I set it up like a clock...gets older as he goes around clockwise. I didn't want to clutter them together. I kind of want a clean look to it.

I like the white background better. It looks cleaner...sort of pure if you know what I mean.

What a wonderful gift!

My in-laws received a similar gift from one of their siblings. I know that my wife and I are not fond of the words that they put on the layout. I would leave them out, but that is just me.

I like your symmetrical layout.
Perhaps his name too in the text, but I don't know.
If they have more kids, and they look alike as babies, it would be a nice touch to have the name, not that the parents wouldn't know but for other visitors viewing it on their wall.
Just a random thought though.
You could put his first name where you have First and the text First Year where you have Year.
Of course you may think this idea sucks and that's cool too!

I like the grey background better. What a sweet gift. She will love it no matter the background!

Since you set it up like a clock, how about a title reminiscent of time?
I like the layout, but maybe they can still be set up reminiscent of a clock without being exactly that way.. maybe move a couple of the frames toward the interior without making them all bunch up. Give the idea without spelling it out for the viewer. Let them make the connection.

What an awesome gift. You are very thoughtful. He's not even my baby and I got a tear in my eye. They grew up so fast. One thing you need to know is that she will like it know matter what.

I like the grey, but use a different color for the text. I agree maybe put his name on it somewhere. Are you planning on putting the baby first birthday pictures in the middle? I have taken some pictures of my little girls first birthday. If you want some ideas I could help.

Great stuff!

Yes...first birthday pic is going to be in the middle. How about silver lettering on the grey, instead of the gold?

I think silver would look great. You might want to try it in bold too. Just to see what it looks like. The gold is hard to see.

BTW I really like the first picture and the picture of him walking in front of the trees. The colors are outstanding. oh ya and the picture of him reading the book. hahahaha...that is a good one. How old was he there?

I have changed the lettering and color on the gray one...looks a bit better.
He was 3 months old exactly. That was at my Dad's 60th B-Day Party. Just grabbed it and kept staring. Lucky I had the camera.
