I took some shots while on vacation keeping in mind I wanted to offer more prints. I have uploaded these to be available for prints. What do you think?

It is ok you can be mean. That is part of learning right?

I should also add any suggested titles would be greatly appreciated as I have a hard time with that part.

I like #1 the best. The other two seem to have some lighting problems - it's hard to make out any detail in the darker areas of the photos, especially on the dock. All of the dark just seems to blend together in an amorphous lump.
Also, the sky on the last one looks impossibly bright blue. Dont know if that's a trick of nature & that's how it really was or if there's some post-processing going on with it.
Also, you might try #1 cropped as a panoramic - either horizontal with less sky (cropped just above the clouds) or as a vertical panoramic with just the clouds and boat.
Hope this helps some.

Another suggestion to play with in #1, move the boat more to the right. Right now, it's just about to leave the frame. Would be nice if is were in the right 3rd of the frame.

Thanks for the help. I can't move the boat to the other side as this is how it was taken. Any other suggestions are welcomed.

Clone teh boat! than adjust the water at the spot it was standing in the first place!
Quite easy :-)

Ohh, I do miss the hot sunny days!
Cool shots Jim! Keep 'em coming

Thanks for the comments Justin. Maybe I can take and just flip the boat so it is going the other way?

Hello?

I don't find the cloning too convinsing (as in the proportion/size of the boat) - it looks like a copy and paste job. But I don't have any tips for you - sorry (but I'll be interested to hear what tips others here can offer).

Does it look any better?

Of course it still needs some work but a better rough draft.

Justin excellent. Now what did you do to turn the boat around? It is what I wanted to do to begin with.

Ok, you asked for honest reactions so here goes. None of these would really interest me at all as a print. There just doesn't seem to be enought interest either in subject or techincal aspect to make it something I would spend money on. They appear to me to be more "I was here on vacation" shots and not really "art". Of course, who is to define art? Someone else may very well like these a lot. :)

Now, WHY I think that about them is harder to describe. I suppose the scenes don't strike me as very unique. Nice trees, with water and reflection...well, it's an okay shot of it, but there's nothing unique. No huge willow tree, or beautiful sky or swan in the water or even much color like wildflowers or such. I hope you understand what I mean.

I feel the same way about the other two shots. Yeah, a dock and a boat, but not really presented in such a way as I would want to look at them on my wall all the time. I really hope this does not offend and is in some way helpful. I always appreciate your thoughtful and helpful comments on my stuff. :)

Judy no offense takne I always enjoy your feedback. I did bring out some of the detail in the tree with the dodge tool. See if it is better or worse now.

Ok I changed the boat. Does it look like a bad job?

Hey guys, sorry for long delay on reply. I went to bed.

Anyways, I used CS2 for .

First I selected the boat with the wand and lasoo tools. Copied it to a new file and then fliped it. Cloned the water where the boat was then pasted the boat back in.

Now looking at your one again, that is better. It pays to take your time and get the details spot on.

The boat being reversed is fine...but the reflection doesn't seem to match anymore, which looks odd to me. I do agree that it needs to be reversed however, because it makes more sense to be coming into shore at the end of the day. Maybe work on the reflection a bit? :)
