I received a nice thank you email following a comment I made in the 'night shot' challenge after I suggested that the 'Third Reich' shot portrayed 2 lines of marching soldiers. The Email confirmed my guess (which I was well pleased with) but having a second look at this submission I was seriously tempted to give a higher mark as the voting period was still active.

Would I have been wrong to give a higher score? - have a look yourselves at this entry - I think maybe you will agree it is a stunning interpretation – with hindsight.

My point is....should we be contactable during a voting period? - could the comment replies be post-dated to be forwarded once the voting period has ended?

I don’t think comments should only made viewable at the end of voting, as I love checking the site during the week to see if my photo has received any comments, but I guess the comments could be anonymous until the end of voting.

Tom, I still want to see comments on my pics and be able to reply to them but what I am saying is if people see my reply to a comment they have made and the voting is still active they may be swayed into re-voting either up or down. What I said in my previous post was yes, show comments and allow us to reply to them but hold back the posting of these replies until the voting period has finished.

Sorry Vin, I slightly misunderstood your post, I should really try reading posts before replying to them :)

No sweat Tom, these posts have been very quiet recently - but it is noticeable that there are now a lot more entries to the 'curves' challenge - it took me all week to fall on something reasonably original and only just completed!
