i would like opinions on the 5 photos posted in her yahoo photo album. i think they are great photos but i AM kind of biased here. i am curious to see if anyone else sees what i do in her skills. i personally think her skills are better than mine and shes only 9! well any way heres the link her portfolio

Hi Cheryl! I think Jessica's photos are prety good. There's always room for improvement of course, but I've certainly seen worse. I think it's great that she enjoys shooting with Mom. You would do well to keep her interested.

Your daughter has a good eye for composition. The basic spatial and tonal balance is pretty good in all the shots, and I like how she has chosen to place the centre of interest well off the centre-line in four of the five shots. My son has a natural eye for composition too. He is 11 now, but ever since he first picked up a camera at around 5, he has produced really well composed photos, without no training at all. He was excited to enter his first photo contest last year. It's a fun thing to do together -- keep it up, both of you.

thank you for the comments. I trust my judgement a little better when it comes to my daughters photos.

The first two are my favorites. I hope she keeps her interest in photography, and I commend you for supporting her interest.

oh lawd! were likely to end up with pink kittys and purple dogs. I am in the process of trying to teach her how to process her own photos but i dont know much about PS myself so as i learn she does too.

I think they are very good indeed...better than a lot of us dpc'rs..
