Guys and gals, remember that no matter what your editor, coworkers, friends, relatives or fellow photographers say...sometimes it's just not worth getting the shot...

Edit: Is that a 1dII?!? Poor thing...

That would be like a dream for me to shoot an event like that. Of course I'm not crazy enough to go onto the track.

Interesting that the game GT4 has spectators run onto the track to take photos just like that guy did.

where some innocent spectator gets nailed watching a race.

Those races no doubt can be dangerous for spectators, however if you are standing on the track, you are just a moron, not an innocent bystander.

The dummy who got tossed was not an innocent spectator. While he may have deserved whatever happened tohim, the rally contestant was also out of the race and did not.

How about using a "telephoto lens", it might be blurry, but a lot safer from a distance.

The key is you never put yourself or anyone else at risk to get a shot.
