well since you're here by choice, then welcome :)
but you know by staying here you'll become like us.. first you'll go insane and try to take pictures of everything.. and nothing, then you'll start forgetting where you were going because you saw some fly in a flower and decided to follow it to get a shot for the macro challenge.
then you'll go bankrupt after buying all the stuff everyone here claims you can't be without to take decent pictures ;)
but its all just illutions.. you have to be from Iceland to take good pictures :) |

Sinice your're new, you don't know about this.
You have to vote a 10 on all my pics for the first year you are here. Just my pics though.
Anyway, off to buy a $1300 lens and build somerthing for the Construction challenge.
I'm going broke and don't know why.

Thick skin never hurts, either. The voting is completely anonymous, and as such, people might leave comments that aren't exactly welcoming by the photographer.
That's not saying that we all don't need some good 'ole CC some times, but every once and a while, you'll get hit with somebody else's bad day tantrum. |

Some bad stuff the past three days. But it is all good goin to Florida on the 10th to see Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. All the other ones too.

What a shame! You had the chance to back out, to get away...now you're suckered in and there's no escape. I really feel for you, the long hours at that update button, until you crack, then it's just the medication - if you are lucky!
You may end up with your own room, just like me...white, soft, bouncy walls and a super jacket, shame it fastens up the back.
Welcome, enjoy, participate and learn...don't take it too seriously, it's supposed to be FUN!

monnone i see your in advertising design development, or something along those lines..
i'm studying advertising now and was wondering if you had any tips, pointers, direction, insight... on my options.
by the way, welcome to DPC the only place where you can submit what you think is a work of art, and be humiliated by the actual works of art.

Hi Monnone! Another fellow Texan! Welcome. I think there are a few more that live in Austin. I live in San Antonio, and there are a few of us here too. I'm afraid one thing you will find is that Texas scenery is a little challenged compared to some of the exotic scenery you will see from all over the world here. It could be worse tho. We could live in West Texas, right?????

Welcome fellow newbie... (I like to consider myself to still be a newbie too since I've only been here a few months and to justify my low scores to date - LOL!)
This is an incredible and incredibly complex place (IMHO). You will find those willing to give you great pointers and those who will shoot you down for every shot. Hang in there (I'm certainly determined dammit!) and if you explore the site, you'll find tutorials, critiques, forums, FAQ, DPCPrints to sell your work, equipment referrals/sales, and just about anything else you can imagine.
I look forward to your comments, opinions, and recommendations. Welcome aboard! :-)

Welcome! It sure helps if you are crazy to be in this community ;p (just joking), it is such a great place to learn, meet new lifelong friends and enjoy what you are passionate about. The people in this site have such a great sense of community and friendship.
Enter as many challenges as you like, enjoy your stay and most of all watch out for the update button you will most definately become addicted :)
