I tried changing it, but forgot to remove the old one first. I uploaded my new one which appears on my preference page but does not show up on my profile page. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this? After my mistake, I removed the new photo on my preference page and the old one on my profile page diappears too. But then when I upload the new one the old photo still appears on the profile page. Looks like I might remain a spider forever!
THANKS !
Help

After you save your changes and then click to view your profile page, the old one will show until you reload or refresh. That happens to me all the time. Try refreshing the page and see if that works.

Is your new profile shot a close up of you? If so, then it's working. You may need to refresh your cache.

Thanks yes it is a close up, but what do you mean by refreshing my cache?

Naomi, the cache is a where the computer hangs onto files you've recently seen or viewed when visiting a site like DPC. Because the file for you profile was loaded by your computer before you changed it, it's been stored on your computer for quick display the next time you view that page again. Makes for less bandwidth and quicker apparent load times when you view sites with graphics.

To clear you cache (and make the new photo appear) you'll need to navigate to the Internet Options dialogue if you're using Internet Explorer. On the top menu, you'll see tools -- down near or at the bottom is Internet Options. When you click on that, you'll get a dialogue with several tabs and the topmost should be "General". Midway down there's a button for deleting temporary internet files -- you want to click that and be set to wait a minute or possibly several while your computer flushes the system of all those saved graphics and photos - including the OLD profile photo. After your temporary files are gone, you also want to clear your history so your browser will HAVE to request a reload of any pages you've already been to.

Once that's done, you should see the new photo .. the closeup.
