Hi gang!

Hey....I'm taking the plunge this summer and starting a photography business. I'll do anything (portraits, events, stock,...). I'm looking for creative names for my new business. You are all the most creative people I know. So, no rules....here's some facts that you could use if you want...

Name = Chris Anderson or Christopher Anderson
Facts = film student in Monterey, CA
Nikon D70
Flexible
Fun
Serious

So, a business name and also a tag line if you have one.

Thanks!!!!
Chris

Things to consider:
most states if your name is the business name then you have no work to do. If you shoose "Happy Face Photography" then you need to file state paperwork, sometimes local papers and run an ad in teh newspaper. Here in PA i am told that deal will run $250, plus a lawyer if you use one.

Hence i am going with Christopher Perry Photography.

Now that was not my first choice. No one but grandma called my Christopher, unless of course they were mad at me. However, since i wanted a //www.com to match my photography biz name, (not a .net, .biz, .tv et al) I had to limit myself to what is/was available.

As for stock photography...I want to do that too. I need motivation..seems boring to go shoot 300 to 1000 stock shots. But for that you don't need to have a business per-se. I cover that category under 'Commercial'.

Hans Christopher Anderson Photography - we will make your photography fairy tales come true (except a wolf won't eat your grandmother)

(just kidding)

edit: (kidding about the name, not about the wolf not eating your grandmother)

If you are going to be doing serious work (weddings, portraits, etc.) I would go with your name. People want to feel confident in the professionalism of the photographer they are hiring for their important photos. Anderson Photography, or Chris Anderson Photography is a professional sounding business. If you go with Anderson Photography, you will be listed higher in Alphabetical listings, which happens quite frequently. //www.AndersonPhotography.com is taken, but it has not been updated since July 2003. They might be willing to sell it. //www.chrisandersonphotography.com is avaialable.

No suggestions, but keeping it simple will make it easier to remember.

Cool...thanks for the info. How would I go about reserving that website (chrisandersonphotography.com)?

Another question.....once I have the name and web address.....I can just link any service to that address? Any recommendations on who to do that with?

Thanks,
Chris
