Finally took the plunge!

Am ridiculously excited! Decided to forego the extra £85 for the kit lens and go for the tamron 28-75 instead... BUT IT WONT ARRIVE TILL THURDAY!!!

I debating as to whether I can fashion a primitive lens from a loo roll and some sticky-back plastic... I think I'll be a dribbling mess by the time Thursday comes. 147-hours & counting :(

Seriously: I taken out of its box - swithed it on - wrapped it up again about 20 time this evening alone! I might have to pay a visit to jessops tomorrow!

you can create a pinhole lens if you rally want to play with your camera right now... Plus pinhole is fun.

1. What you do is buy a body cap and cut out the inside so only the rim is left.
2 Then take a toiletpaper roll and cut it to the desired length in mm (dont forget to account for the distance inside your camera to the sensor).
3. Attach it to the lens cap with hotglue or epoxy. Then cut a pop can into a circle the size of the toiletpaper roll and poke a small hole in it with a very small sewing needle, or a drillbit (pinhole calculators online that give you the correct diameter of the hole for the lens length and the number for the drill bit of that size).
4. Sand the alluminum piece by the whole to remove any burrs and to decrease the thickness as much as possible (thinner the better).
5. Then attach the alluminum piece onto the roll and put to pieces of masking tape over the hole (both sides).
6. Spraypaint the hole lens black (to make it lighttight) and remove the tape.

Now you have a removeable pinhole lens that leaves no tape residue...

My Tamron 28-75 arrived today!!! only 11 days late :( But I am well happy with it! Just gave it a quick test on the way to work I think it looks ok, some at F2.8 were a tad soft, but I think that might be operator error, otherwise its so sharp it hurts my eyes.

Fingers crossed the weather'll be ok tomorrow!
