Houston is an interesting place. I have been in the area most of my 52 years. Houston has a great museum district. It is close to the zoo and planetarium. If you are into sports, there are three yes three new venues. Minute Maid Park for the Astros, Reliant Stadium for the Texans and Toyota Center for the Rockets. Reliant Stadium dwarfs the Astrodome if you can believe that. South of Houston is Galveston. There Moody Gardens offers both an indoor rain forest and indoor aquarium inside two giant glass piramids. The Gulf of Mexico is here and on the Islands west end is Galveston Island State Park. The Strand Historic District complete with the tall ship Ellissa is in the heart of Galveston proper. You could take the ferry from Galveston to Bolivar and see dolphins. I have shot many photos there. Nasa is between Houston and Galveston. Space Center Houston is there. Photo ops include Saturn V rocket in an outside display. On the East side is the San Jacinto Battleground. It is compete with the tallest monument in the US, the Battleship Texas, and a wonderfull museum in the monument' base. I guess is really depends on what you want to see and take pictures of. Also south is Kemah. Our local Tillman Fertita has turned it into Texas' fisherman's warf. It is complete with many restaurants, a train ride around the area a ferris wheel and other permanent rides. All of it is located on scenic Clear Creek and Galveston Bay. This area is home to the fourth largest concentration of pleasure boats in the US. They all have to get to Galveston Bay by way of Kemah. Granted Houston is flat and hot but there are many things to see. Hope this helps.

Check Galveston and strip-clubs of course (the best in the West)

Thanks for the help on what to see! I just got back this evening. As it turns out I had more of an itenerary planned than I had expected... We spent a night in Palistine, and went on a train ride through a national park.

After that we spent 3 nights in Webster. One day at the Kemah Boardwalk, and then one day at NASA JSC. We had a really good time, thanks again for the help!

You got some great shots man. Kemah boardwalk is a blast, so much to do there. JSC is fascinating, and lends itself to some great shots...like yours !

Glad you had fun !
