Trying to make a final choice on if I am going to purchase this or not, any commetns for or against would be appreciated. |

Are you talking about the genuine fractals filter for compressing photoshop images? I've played a bit with it. It does get some nice compression. I took a 910k jpg file and it compressed it down to 330k. It's nice for storage, as it's not a losy compression. On the other hand, it's pretty slow while it compresses and you can't see thumbnails of the compressed images. |

I think Genuine Fractal's ability to compress images efficiently is really a nice side affect of the filter. It's primary purpose, I believe, is it's ability to enlarge digital images and still maintain good detail and sharp, clean edges. I have used it a great deal for enlargements and I am very impressed with it.

It claims upto 600 percent enlargments without loosing detail. Has any one used it to enlarge 600% and taken a print? My experience is just limited to 200%. For upto 200% it does a great job. |
