I'd be curious to see the same shots taken with a greater DOF. I'm in the market for a macro lens and want something that's also versatile.

I'm diggin the waterdrop.

I'm thinking of getting a 105mm, probably a Sigma. Don't know.

Well, sure as hell if you're getting a 105mm it's going to be a sigma ;-) I sure do want one of these 105mm DG EX myself...

I haven't spent any money in a while and that's starting to annoy me a bit.

I'm jonesing for a fix of buyers remorse and a Macro lens is just the answer.

Do you have a 105mm? Can it take bug shots and portraits too???
I probably will never need to get up a bugs butt, though it's always good having that power on your side. Teach'em who's boss...ya know?

I wish I'd had one for the Jewelry Challenge. It got me thinking. That's dangerous.

I have been using extension tubes with my 28-200D for some macro experiments. Finally decided to get a real macro lense... spent many hours today reading reviews of 50mm 1.8, 1.4 then 60mm and 105mm Nikkor. Still don't know what I really want :'(
