I've taken these two photos of one of the most photographed buildings in Austin ( I think the capitol building might get more shots).

Please let me know which one you like better (or if you don't like either what could I have done to make you like them), both technically and artistically.

From a quick look, I think I like the second(horizontal) picture the best. The first one definitly has more of a focus on the tower, which is somewhat lost in the second. The second seems to have more focus on the fountain. So I guess it comes down to what you want the picture to be for :)

It looks to me like you over sharpened. Is that possible? I noticed what looks like that in the tree tops.

OMG. I just looked at it now in 640 pixel version... It's ugly. I'll fix it promptly.

is this the same tower that some sniper took out students and faculty back in the 60's?

I used to work in that tower!

I think those pictures are well-composed, but earlier in the day, the fountains are off, which makes for cool reflections.
