So what's your question?

You most likely didn't mean it in a bad way but it just seems bad form to post this message here. Almost as if you don't really care about the critiques but instead are concerned about the points on Photosig. In fact, you didn't even give us a link to your Rose, but instead gave us a link to your profile so that we could see all of your photos, so that you could fish for more points. But hey, that's just the way I'm reading it. If you really want a critique you should just post your picture right here in the forum.

As for your picture, its a beautiful rose. I like the lighting but I do not like that you cut off the end of the green stem leaf.

well excuse the hell out of me. i could care less about points. who the hell am i going to impress with my point count? if i somehow managed to get a 1000(which would never happen) point from this post i still would be a nobody on that site compared to guys with 18000 points and more. it's not like i win a free cookie when i achieve a certian count. it's just easier to keep track of the critiques there than to have to keep track of a forum post. i just wanted some feedback. this site and the people on it piss me off more and more every week. how about just disregarding this post altogether.

thanks for nothing.

Hey I could use a few critiques too. I had a few shots that would have went in the negative space challenge very well. Unfortunately I took them way earlier. Let me know what you think if you get a few minutes to look at them. These are most of the good shots in a whopping 9 months of taking pictures. Sad that it will take you all like 3 minutes to look at all of them. Visit my pictures at the link below. I could have used the comments from this challenge picture BEFORE I put it into the mix.

NOTHING?! After I took the time write out that well thought message and still leave you the chance that maybe I was wrong? I even critiqued your photo like you asked. Maybe points really is all your care about.

You know... it just really bothers me that people see Q&A and decide to make an anouncement instead of asking a question or answering someones previously posted question.

ummm, chariot, i believe his question would've been phrased, "will you go to my photosig page and look at my picture of the rose?" or at least that is how i read it.

also, i guess he could post another "copy" of the pic here, but i don't think photosig allows direct links to specific pics (someone verify this please?). he is not the first person to refer to his photosig page in the forums, by the way. and where else would he put it?

maybe we are all just a bit touchy this week, and need to relax some? maybe?

goodtimecharlee, I like that rose a lot. Great DOF and the hint of the upper leaf gives a nice artistic, painterly effect. Those things set it apart from just another picture of a red rose.

Last night, a friend of mine advised me to just ignore a comment that did not make much sense and just be pleased with my image. Maybe I can pass this advice on to you. Be pleased with your image :)

"Don't tell me to relax -- it's only my tension that's holding me together." --Ashleigh Brilliant (Pot Shots®)

I've had mixed feelings about folks posting their "other" images or outtakes in the forums. I think it's often diverted people's attention from the past, current, and upcoming challenges, which should be our main focus as far as evaluating images. It does allow us to practice our critical skills on images not involved in voting, similar to the Art Appreciation series.

I think in DPC2 there should be a separate forum area for people to post images not directly related to the current challenge, so those with limited time can read forum threads more efficiently. Maybe we should each have a limit of a certain number of non-entry images per month for each member. I also think we shouldn't post outtakes until after voting closes; what's the point of asking "would this have done better?" if you can't refer to your entry for comparison...

I do not believe PhotoSig allows direct linking to images. pBase does allow it for paying members (and it's cheap for what you get).
