Hey...Ive been working on a few things for mother's day for my mom and my mother-in-law and this is what I have come up with. Any thoughts?

Sarah...I think they are both lovely; I personally prefer the tulip one. The text on the dandelion one is a bit difficult to read on my monitor (crappy LCD), then again it could be my aging eyes. Pretty pictures! :o)

How did you do the desaturation on the pictures?

I mean I know how to desaturate, but what did you use mask, layers,...?

Personally I prefer the dandilion, but they are both beautiful.
I left you comments on them with my suggestions of very small improvements, if you'd like.

I really like the tulips. Unless your mom is has a thing for dandelions, I would go with the flower shot.

Im not sure if I desaturate right or not, but this is the only way I know how to do it..
-layer via copy
-set background color to black
-brush set to color
-just brush over where I want to loose color, and when I mess up, I use the eraser tool and it brings the color back.
Tell me what I should do!!! :)

And my reason for the dandilion...

When I was little I always picked them for my mom! And now, my little girl is always picking them for me...I know its a weed, but it just screams out "I love you!!"

I figured the dandelions might have some sort of history with your family. It is a nice shot of a dandelion too, but I'm going to stick with the tulip choice and particularly because I like the focus and I think you did a great job on the desaturation. It would make any mother proud.
