... I know it is a very old joke, just could not resist.

Seriously, how late a late night has to be?

2:03 AM to 2:15 AM or I'm voting down.

Is it just me or is this underexposed? You might want to use a wider aperture. Your use of b/w is appropriate for the subject as it's primarily about shapes and lines... In this case a box.

Very creative though - most lens caps are round, so you are obviously a visionary!

Looks more like Julian than San Diego....

I assume you took this during the California energy crisis a few years ago? I like the depth and dark mood you've captured, but I'm not so sure about the blank expression. I'd probably crop a little off the left side, too.

Yeah - and that D70 ROCKS! - NO noise!

I am a bit at odds though - Cityscape I buy, Panoramic pretty "iffy".

Well done but just doesn't have that WOW factor for me - 5

I should have submitted one like that for the Minimalism challenge. I could have a higher score.

Guys,
thank you SO much for a ton of helpful suggestions. I tried to incorporate them all (rotated, cropped, increased contrast and saturation, sharpened a bit, neatimaged - of course, even applied some dodging and burning)

original ---------------------edited

not sure about the results - have I overdone it?

I am still new with Photoshop...

The border is too wide in the edited shot. VERY distracting ;-)

I don't mind, but don't even think of submitting it to the challenge or risk immediate DQ for photographing an existing work of art (Malevich)
