This is an outtake (nothing like my final submission) for the free study.

I'd be interested in any comments. Editing was "basic" only. But this particular version is a crop from my original and the one I almost submitted.

More importantly, again, I am open for a better title. So I am holding a title contest. Winner gets honest critique club style analyses for three photos of their choice. (If they want it!)

Please add any critique style comments to the photo itself. Titles can go here in this thread.

Or just chime in and tell me whether you like it--I did the crop and color tweaks on the smaller file (from Bibble). I'll have to repeat on the full size if it's nice enough to offer in my print gallery.

Thanks--Neil

Current Title: "Origins"

1. Daffodil exiting a wormhole. Success at last.
2. Jivin
3. Daiquiridil

Probably a crap idea but...

The Daffodil Pool

Because those are the two things it makes me think of...

One clarification to the rules--it's abstract and doesn't have to be named literally, except if that's what it makes you think of, then it's right.

Mellow Yellow :)

Yeah I wasn't intending to offer up a literal title but it jumped into my brain and that was that...

The other one that springs to mind on a more non-literal front is:

Dancing Sun

PS If I "won" I'd rather have a print of this very image than three critiques! :o) If you were willing!

Ok, additional rules:

1) Winner can alternatively have a print of this at base DPC costs
2) Contest ends tommorrow afternoon sometime (because I'll be out all morning--hows that for being specific ;)

How about "Fallen Angel:" Looks like the back of angel flapping it's wings trying to prevent itself from being sucked into a deep blue hole.
Well kinda anyway!! :)

Life Dance is what comes to me. I have to be honest - the thumbnail led me to believe that I wasn't going to really gravitate to this one, but when I brought it up, I was totally taken in. You really did it with this one.

edit for my awful typos once again.

"Spring Fling"?

"Dichromacy"

or Dichromatism, Dichromatopsia, Dichromia, Dichromacy

(You get the idea)

a deficiency of color vision in which the person can match any given hue by mixing only two other wavelengths of light (as opposed to the three wavelengths needed by people with normal color vision)

"Dervish" or "Whirlpool" or "Yin/Yang"

I just noticed you took this with a camera I have too ... what settings did you use, and did you turn off the IS?

According to the EXIF, 1/14.99 of a second, F6.3, and yes, I turned off the IS. Sorry, I'll add these to the photo info--upon export to web it loses the EXIF and I was too busy to hunt for the original when I uploaded.

Lots of good titles so far; I'm going to try and recruit scalvert as a guest judge to help me pick...

Love the image Neil,
My suggestions are " Verve " or maybe " The Maelstrom "
