I am looking to buy a 300D (maybe 350) but I want to get it in black... I havn't been able to find any stores with black bodies however. Anyone know of any online stores selling black? I know Adorama and B&H will come up alot so any others people use other than those 2? Thanx

I thought the 300D was only available in black in Japan, if it was at all?
Seems like I remember something to that effect.

Just out of curiosity, what's the reason you don't want to buy from B&H or Adorama?

The black 300D was at first only available in Japan, but a few months later it became available worldwide.

I will more than likely end up buying from one of those 2 places, but I am compulsive about looking around and getting the best deal. I don't feel complete unless I shop around.

Thanx for the info and stores guys, I will check it all out.

cheers,
Ryan

The black 300D... it's takes better pictures?

I have the 350D and purchase a silver one. I know "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?". Well for one thats all that was available but the place I purchased if from told me when they got a 'black body' in they would call me and they did and exchanged it 'no charge'. With in two days I was not as happy with the black body as I was with the silver. Know I know the black body looks more professional but the material it is made of is slightly different than the silver body. It has a more texture feel and is VERY easy to scuff. Just exchanging lens would put a scuff mark on the body and you would have to clean it. After two days the camera looked like it had been used for a year. I was not happy and took it back to the place I purchased it and the manager was very nice and said that three other people had exchanged the 'black body' for the silver body because of that particular reason. You could put your fingernail on the body and it would scuff it, and I don't have long nails at all. I know your saying you and the other people just didn't take care of the camera well. But that is far from the truth. I spent $2200 on my camera and lens and treat it as if it was a new car. The problem is in what they made the body out of. I'm not saying that the 'silver body' is build better than the 'black body' but it does not scuff as easily as the 'black body' 350XT. I had my 'silver body' for about a month and have taken almost 500 pictures and it does not have one scuff mark on it at all.
Now that the 350D, the 300D may be different. I just though I would give you my 2 cents, it may help.

on the contrary, I would just rather have a black camera appose to a silver, just personal choice.

and for the dude who asked why not the 350. I am getting the 300D as a backup to my 20D since that is what money alowes.

cheers,
Ryan
