Someone commented to me yesterday that it would be nice if the Critique Club system call email all people who miss out on a requested critique - so that they realise they have missed out. I think this would be good since before I knew the system I kept hoping for a critique that was clearly never going to arrive.
Likewise, a message to let people know when their photo has been critiqued would be useful. Perhaps as a checkbox below the "add comment" box to enable a message.
Finally - I have begun politely asking everyone I critique to add a comment to one of my images if they have the time... Perhaps the automated message could say the same? That is the best reward for submitting a critique that I can think of, but some people are (incorrectly) nervous to comment normally. |

I like the idea of receiving an email when you get a critique on a photo that is not in the current challenge. That would be a good alert to the photographer to help keep from missing the comment. I don't know that sending email to those who don't get requested critiques would really be beneficial... If you don't get an email, you didn't get a critique...

I like Sparky's idea. An automated message could be sent to all participants who's entries were not critiqued. Something like:
The Critique Club has finished all critiques for this week. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we could not critique your entry this week.
I nearly missed out on one or two critiques because I became fed up with repeatedly going back to my profile to see if my image has been critiqued.
A comment notification would also be very nice, but I'm not sure that everybody would appreciate receiving such comment notifications, which could turn into a bit of a nuisance, especially if you have a very popular entry. :)

Please keep in mind that Critique Club critiques and comments are not guaranteed... It's just an added bonus (or disappointment) if you get one :)

Maybe to avoid confusion there could be a note right by where you check the "I want a critique" box that expains the request gets cancelled after a week.
Also it could be a requirement of the critiquers that they send a private message email when they have finished a critique.

I think solving this one is easy - I'd just like to get an email notification every time I get a comment on a picture that is not 'in play' for voting.
So as soon as the challenge ends, any comments on your picture gets sent to you as a private message if you have that set up. |

or to have on our profile page, the last 10 or 20 comments left on one of our picture that is not in play. That would solve the issue and be less intrusive than an email.
