Okay, bad enough I got one daughter hooked on photography but now the other, who is actually pretty darn good (better than her sister, don't let her know I said that) wants to join too. So of course, what do I do? I sign her up. *sigh* My poor hubby doesn't stand a chance and the really weird part is he was the one who was the professional photographer years ago and got paid good money for it!

So everyone, if you haven't met my daughters yet, I would like to introduce them to you again:

Melissa (age 12, soon to be 13)
and
Ellie (Age 9, soon to be 10)

Now to get the paperwork off to Drew and Langdon for Ellie :)

That's awesome! I might sign up my 10yr old as well. It would be fun to have peer "competition" and friendship for them both. Kimberly actually won an honorable mention (one of 3 student category prizes) in the Icefest competition I won.

This is a shot Ellie took last summer in Montana, straight from the camera, resized only for DPC. The kid is good :)

Very cool, I'm 15 myself

It's good to get them involved in photography around their age. I think most kids around your childrens age have more vivid imaginations and ideas than adults because they're still learning and making up their own ideas about how things work. I mean, I teach art lessons for a few extra bucks to kids around 10 years old and man, they have such creative and wickid ideas.

I think, I would have to now enroll my son too. He already knows some DPC members,he went on two NY GT's :)

I'm thinking about signing up my 13 year old son too. He suddenly developed an interest in Photography when I joined this site. I think he was sucked in by the "update" button :)

When you listed your daughters names I thought I'd take a look at how they were doing so far. I noticed I like how one of them scores images better, lol.

That would set a record I think. Isaac has a record you could shoot for: challenge score closest to chronological age -- he got a 5.4 when he was about 5.7 years old. I bet your 3 year old can get a 4!

My daughter is 8, and when she sees me taking shots for a challenge, she takes her own pictures and wants to submit them also, but I had to explain that one had to be a registered member to submit. I think I'm going to have to sign her up eventually. She has her own camera.

He does pretty good. We put the camera on fully automatic, turn the flash on (and if we are inside, turn on macro mode) adn he loves it.

Some of his shots:

At an air show in SC last fall (he was 2.5)

His "Bear"

He really likes airplanes

And one of his earlier portraits, at that same airshow:
