Is the catchlight in this shot interesting?

Or annoying/distracting?

Thanks,
Ara

Nice shot, I like your crop but I do find the catchlight a little distracting.

In the thumbnail, slightly interesting, in the full size version, annoying. You can see the actual light rings. But otherwise a lovely shot, love the crop.

It appears to have too much detail at the edges - in focus. A much wider aperture and selective focus would enable you to use this catch light more effectively (my $0.02).

Thanks guys.

I really wanted to get as close as possible, but because of that, I had to handhold, stop down for any DoF to speak of, bump ISO to 800 (I usually don't like to go above 400), and had to bring the lamp really close to him to get enough light.

I tried to clone/heal out the light, but I just made a big mess, and when I tried to kill it completely something looked off with the shot. When I tried to add a catchlight to lightless eye, that was the worst.

Oh well.
