Hey, it says in the description- failure to meet the challenge in this one is grounds for DQ. Joys of an April Fools Challenge. :)

I feel no pity! Duckies for everyone!

I can't understand why mine was DQ'ed.

I included everything I was supposed to. (Except, I guess, the whole "using a camera" part.)

What about "Ahwww, that was such a great shot. What a shame it got DQ'ed. It's a tragedy. How could SC be so mean. Please post it so we can all enjoy it."?
Isn't that what we're supposed to say when someone gets caught breaking the rules?

No Pity for busted duck shooters!

I guess that must be an important part. I'll have to remember that. ;-)

Well that is really just a minor detail. At least you thought out of the box, you know with all the grapes forming a halo round the ducks head and all.

It's exactly like the situation where guy took a camera, took a picture, earesed the picture in photoshop and painted over it.

I was outraged when I first checked in a found that mine hadn't been DQ'd yet. I'm glad to see that the SC got their act together pretty rapidly though.

So yours has been DQed now or do you think there should be a appeal process set up for NYDQed entries. ;)

And proudly suffered my first DQ in almost a full year being here. LOL

Actually met the challenge in a VERY out of the box way, and could prove it all too. (I did do it as a spoof though, assuming it was all an April Fool's joke). Oh wait - it did officially qualify for DQ in only one aspect: was shot at F4.0 (drat - could have started a whole new thread) ;)

So who was the wise-guy/gal hidden with all the quack! quack! quacks! in the comments? ROFL

Hell, I forgot about the aperture requirement - I could have been Dq'd on three fronts, rather than just the two.

Can we have a thread (or add them here) with all these wonderfully proud DQ's?

Edited to say ......I really wanna see them all. LOL

I was D Q but I am relieved It looked dreadful LOL!
But I still see images to vote on that are obviouly not rubber ducks
congrats to the very FEW people who pulled this off
Some had very clever ideas but images where out of focus.

I think it was because the duck wasn't rubber
Thats why my image was D Q anyway Yours shows initiative! Good try

I also was DQ'd as well but not before I received 10 fun comments. It is heartening to note that the site council can tell the difference between grapes and painted peanuts. Wait until next April fool's day.

congratulations!

at the rate these things are dq'ing, it looks like the 'yolks' on the sc...

the big question is, are these dq's going to count towards your suspension limit...
04/02/2005 06:33:12 PM · #19
i hope not, else I'm suspended :-)

There are several photographs that the DOF looks very shallow making me think it was taken outside of the f6 - f10 range. lol

Please request a DQ so we can check. We take breaking the rules very seriously ;)

I have to say I didn't take this challenge that seriously. I figured those irrational rules were the joke. I gaurantee I'll never use my sense of humor on this site again.

OK, might as well let everyone have a good laugh on my account.
(on account I was seeing how ridiculous I could be stretching the rules..)

ROFLMAO!

Blue background was a given.
House nickname is Rubber Duckie.
Pool in the backyard, plus water still on roof plastic from rains.
5 Green grapes in the window sill.
Each house had a light on + the sun = 3 light sources.
Only item blatently not meeting the challenge *wink* was F4.0, but was my P&S setting.

I assumed this was a gag challenge anyway, and was happy to see it yanked, as my score was *gulp* in the 2.8 range last night.

Thinking outside the box and/or artistic interpretation is OK right?
Oh my face hurts from laughing about this one.

Edited cuz' I koodnt spell rite

It's possible to get a shallow dof @ f6-10 by using a close up filter :)
