Do you see what's happening? Are you really looking?

We've discussed ad-nauseum how DPC is an addictive activity. Now our benevolent administrators are asking us to find and photograph ...a RUBBER DUCKY!!?? and a bunch of green grapes to boot!
How many will do their bidding?

I want desparately to be a good photographer. I want to find the subject matter that appeals to me; images of which will permit me to finally declare "I've found my niche". But, noooo. I'm instead reduced, willy-nilly, to searching for objects that "meet the challenge", and the challenge is whatever these "administrators" dictate. (Do D&L really exist? Has anyone ever ACTUALLY seen them - in the flesh??)

So here I am. I, a seemingly mature man well into his 50s, am asked to find (buy, steal, ..whatever) a rubber ducky (...the grapes are already sitting in my fruit salad).

Know what I'm going to do? I'm going to resist, ..refuse to be D&L's monkey, their silly puppet on a string. STAND UP DPCers!! JOIN ME IN SQUELCHING THIS FOOLISH (NAY, EVIL) ATTEMPT TO MANIPULATE AND CONTROL OUR VAST CREATIVE ENERGIES!!!

.......at least until 11:50 tonite. ...Now where is that little yellow devil?

Shoot the purple grapes, color shift 'em in photoshop, select them and copy them, open a new document with a blue background, pste the grapes on that, show the image full screen, and use it as your background, shooting the ducky in a glass of water in front of the screen. Count the screen as one of the 3 light sources. Yer home free.

I think the challenge is kind of funny, and if it was longer than 24 hours, I'd participate, included rules and all. However, its Friday and when I'm done work, I'm going out.

I think the joke will be to vote all entries very high (i.e. vote between 7 and 10). Then everybody that entered will have a “5 Grape Duck” as their highest rated photo on their profile for years to come. ;-)

April fools or not, five grapes (green)3 lights, blue background, a rubber ducky, and water. Not very complicated.

Two hours to assemble the items (I had to buy the grapes)

Question about water... I know it is required to be in the photograph, does colored water count? I know water is normally portrayed as either clear or blue, but what if I add yellow or red coloring to it, does that still count?
