I just figured out how to use these, I didn't realize how powerful they can be. I had taken the original photo in sepia mode (about 3 years ago). I find this version more dramatic, but I'm looking for input as to whether I may have made it appear overexposed. I am very new and appreciate all suggestions/criticisms. Thanks!

i think you've done a good job with the dodge/burn tool, but in this particular case, i like the sepia one better. it has a misty faraway mood to it, which is completely lost in the black and white. the modified also appears a lot more busy than the original, perhaps because of the crop. also the top branches in the trees have lost some of their details and the sky in that area has a washed out look.
Pedro wrote a wonderful dodge-burn tutorial which you can find in the tutorials section, in case you need some help with it. but for this picture, i think i prefer the original.
