The previous fourth place photo in Surrealism has been DQed as the photographer opted not to submit proof. Congrats to the new 4th and 5th places!

I was thinking about the proper way to phrase that post.

Congrats to everyone on their new places!

That was a good photo too. To bad he didn't submit proof.

Thanks, Sher! I just wanted to take a peek at some of his stuff here. Hope you are well and happy, too!

Darn, I was chuffed when I saw he'd finally entered again. I'm guessing this isn't a good sign for future challenges :-/
03/18/2005 03:50:38 PM · #14
Too bad. that was my favorite photo of the challenge.
03/18/2005 04:56:37 PM · #15
I don't really understand why it was even validated? It looks perfectly legal and surreal.
03/18/2005 05:00:14 PM · #16
The top five are required to submit proof. He chose not to. So, as a result, we had to dq it.
03/18/2005 05:19:02 PM · #17
I had that photo as my favorite. I wished there was an automatic mechanism to move the photo to member's portfolio once it's DQed. Many time people don't re-add it to their portfolio.

It's a shame. I also hope he is gonna enter again. I really like his work!

That also means that AA himself would have had a top 10 placing.

We announced that will be happening the first of the year, but the feature has not yet been coded. Once it is, the change will apply retroactively to the beginning of 2005.

If a person is not a member and thus has no portfolio where does it go?
03/18/2005 06:24:57 PM · #22
It's not going to go to their portfolio, really. It will still appear as a challenge entry, but will show that it was disqualified (and the reason). In the challenge rankings, they will appear at the end of the list.

The point is they will still be visible.

Terry,

will we be able to see the comments and the vote breakdown?

You will be able to see the comments, but most likely not the vote breakdown or score.

This also only applies to Challenge Rules violations. Site Council will block display of entries that violate the Terms of Service (things such as copyright, offensive content and such).

"The top five are required to submit proof. He chose not to. So, as a result, we had to dq it." is that ok? Can you just say I couldn't be assed to submit the original and still have the image and comments displayed? It's not really a mistake is it?
