Fox News

How do these people go on trial and NOT be handcuffed?

Prayers are with the families of the victims.

I am stunned, literally. I don't undertand it either. My prayers go out, also.

Waiting to see when they catch him. Heard he is in a Green Tauras headed toward Alabama. How does he get out of the courthouse? This happened on the 7th floor.

I am following this live on stations now.
Things like this have happened before, and they continue?
This should never happen. Outrageous!

What I don't understand is why did he do it? He had been free on bail. If he was going to run, why didn't he do it then? Why wait until he has to commit mass murder to get away? He's not just a scumbag, he's a frikkin idiot too.

This just goes to show that the word "security" is only a comfort word...

It really saddens me that our world is filled with so much instability and false security. You never know if the next person you bump into, raise your voice at or generally just piss off will just go off the deep end. This is just an outrageous situation and alot of lives have been changed forever because of it. The saddest thing is things like this happen every day all over the world.

I think it’s a consequence of our self induced separation from nature and obsession with power and monetary goods and overall lack of worldly knowledge and understanding. Our societies today can create some of the most sick and demented people in history. Humans weren’t meant to live lives so fast paced and with little or no self gratification and pride in ones work and almost no contact or understanding of natural surroundings. Some people in cities never experience the calm and peace that can be found relaxing with nature. The "snapping" and "going postal" phenomenon is a product of such work and lack of worldly understanding and ones place in it. One becomes lost in such a huge, complex and confusing world.

I think you are absolutely 100% correct in your thinking here.

I'll give ya a 50%. I'd contend it's the self induced separation from God, an overall lack of Godly wisdom, and the single-minded obsession with self gratification (which is actually in agreement with the "obsession with power and monetary goods").

Think about what one of many meaning of 'insanity' is.. in this case being unable to create rational thought.. If this isn't completely void of rational thought then I don't know what is.

Any person of logic is completely stumped by this course of actions. Considering they can hold you until death if you're 'committed' and only for the duration of your sentance for any conviction, this is the dumbest 'plan' (if there was one) I've ever heard. Sure, no body wants to be raped by ape-like men but vioa la, should of thought about that before draggin his knuckles over someone who said NO.

Sad thing is, this guy will probably only be killed for this.. Probably by the officers who find him. I say let the lifers have him for all eternity. What a skin tight shoe that would be.

They still haven't caught him. It is a green Honda Accord that he is in I believe.

wow...I can't believe that story.

He was caught the day before trying to sneak in with a weapon.
Does that not give them a clue that he had an agenda?
Then they escort him to court the next day with only one female officer (alone together in the elevator) that carries a firearm.
This is just crazy.

They caught him today but he added another kill to his record, a Us Customs Agent. If I would have caught him I would have just put some lead between his eyes. I usually never say this but I would like to see him FRY

That's what I can't believe, man or woman, they only have one deputy escorting this guy?

Yeah, these stories are crazy... and then, on Sunday, we have this:

Cops: Church Gunman Angry Over Sermon

This is very interesting... according the Fox News article this individual was "upset" over a sermon that the minister gave on "end times," and how eminent -- according to the minister -- it is. At the end of his rampage the gunman killed himself.

What's crazy is how utterly "normal" this guy looks:

Some sad and frustrating details, the Honda police advised he fled in was parked one level below where he took it in the parking garage. The garage was never searched by the police. A citizen reported it the next day. Seems he parked the car and took public transit out of the city.

To the point of the unnaturalness of our world, indeed behavior is sent over the edge by much of what we define as normal today. What seems to be his trigger however is rejection from a personal relationship. He was on trial for kidnapping, rape etc.

It was like a tragic comedy to see public officials engaged in damage control giving interviews about this being radom etc. A good lawyer for this guy will take that radom act comment on CNN by the DA and argue agaijnst the death penalty due to premeditation, never mind he hunted his victims down instead of running out of the building when he overcame the officer. Anyway.. very sad events surround us, much beauty exists however and it's good to see so much of it here.

Am I the only person who tends to think of why he did what he did as apposed to how he did it? (this goes to the church killings aswell).

Also, now that it’s been 3 days since this incident, does this really need to continue to absorb 80% of all major network and national news? That on top of the Michael Jackson case and the church killings there is little or no time for real news about issues that actually affect the nation.

IMO these issues should not be more than a regular 3-5 minute segment in national news. Let local news cover it 24/7 as they are local issues. How many times will CNN show the interview with the hostage? I saw it 3 times just this morning.

Distractions…

This is why I stopped watching the news. They seem to oversaturate stuff.
