I recently experienced something devastating. My digital camera, some how, fell out of my closet and now won't turn on. I have an Olympus C-700 zoom. I was wondering if anyone that lives in Chicago knows of a good place that I can go to get the camera repaired. I called Olympus and they want $160 + tax to repair it. Thanks for any help that you can give.

You should expect that any repair place is going to charge you at least that. Digital camera repairs for non-prosumer/SLR bodies start around $200. They are not cheap to fix. Because this is impact damage, it's not covered under warrenty.

I wish I had better news for you. :(
