Hey, I just got a demo copy of Genuine Fractals for my computer. I have always hated the step method of resampling mostly because I am just ridiculously impaitent. I am curious how many of you use GF and how do you maximize your use of it with DPC prints. If anyone would like to post a real quick step by step, thatd be awesome...anyway thanks in advance for your responses.

I know a number of printers that swear by it, but have only seen it used once, on a poster shot I took of a painting to be made into a print - that was certainly seamless. I would likewise like to know more: need to get some of my images up to A3+, and the 5400 just won't do it :-)

I use GF and love it.It's much better than doing stair interpolation in PS.

All you do go to "save as..." and save your image as a .stn It'll seem like nothing's happening for a while, be patient and then click lossless when it asks how you want it saved. Then close your image. Re-open the .stn file and you'll be faced with some choices. It's in here that you specify how much bigger you want your image. Once you've decided how big just click ok and you'll have your bigger image. :)

I just wish they offered a 1-step process - without the save-to-disk and reload in the middle. Why don't they have a plug-in that can simply upsize the image? Do the fractal conversion "in-memory" and then upsize from there.

I use Genuine fractals all the time for both upsizing AND downsizing and I find it incredible. My opinion is that the edges are less harsh and cleaner than with stair interpolation or any other algorithm included in photoshop. There are also less jaggies. An essential for big prints or to dowsize for web.
