i only have one problem interpreting the description - does it have to be an actual movie, or can we make up a title to a fictional movie?

feel free to let me know how you interpret it.

thanks

How would we know? But on the other hand, I think common movies with pics that do match will score highest.

I would assume that it should be an actual movie, this does not seem like much of a limitation as there as a LOT of movie titles our there.

Sounds like a fun challenge to me. Even though some may think of it as a form of 'Free Study' I think the winner will be the one that can pull off a great shot that explains the 'Movie Title' with wit or wow factor. I going to really think on this one and hopefully expand my boundaries and give it a good shot. There are a lot of good photographers here but this is a challenge that anyone has a chance to win. Let's have fun.

I hope someone does my favorite Steve Martin movie: The Man with two brainsI think that a lot of you could do some very creative things with that title. :)

These are the challenges I love. Such a broad array of different things can be pulled off with this challenge. I'm going through my dvd collection and writing down what would be plausible. Hope to score high on this one!

I think we all do on every challenge =). But I see that you are specifically aiming at doing better on this challenge.

And I'm hoping to see alot of stunning images (like we all do in every challenge )

so the movie doesn't have to be one already out there, you can make a shot of a movie poster of your own mind right? please help me with this one. tell me your thoughts!

I think that a well known movie title with a picture to coincide will score the best. IMO if people don't recognize the move it may not score as high. Thats just my opinion, not the way I plan on voting because we have a world wide site here and there will be movies that some of us don't recognize so we have to be open minded when voting. But I still believe the winner will be someone that pull out a great picture to a well know movie title.

Although this is a great picture, it is not what this challenge is all about. Just don't want people to get confused. That was a different movie challenge altogether.

How isn't it the same? I think I see your point, my own interpretation would be to shoot a forrest of trees for the film title 'Forrest Gump'?

I agree that the picture does not have to be about the movie but the details does not say it can not be about the move. So in my opinion if both ways are ok as long as the picture relates to the movie title.
Challenge Details: For this challenge, the title of your submitted photo must also be the title of a movie. This doesn't mean your photograph has to be somehow related to the actual movie. The movie title you pick should just be an appropriate title for your subject matter. So be creative and have fun!

Mine is in the bag, completed/submitted it today.
Now on to the Bokeh challenge ...

Shot this too early and probably wouldn't score well anyway but I think that the (film) title works for the subject...Gone with the Wind..

"Your photograph should mimic a scene from a movie of your choice. Your photograph's title should be the title of the movie."

For this challenge...
"the title of your submitted photo must also be the title of a movie. This doesn't mean your photograph has to be somehow related to the actual movie. The movie title you pick should just be an appropriate title for your subject matter. So be creative and have fun!"

It couldn't be any clearer!!!

EDIT: MY 100th POST ;o)

You could always just use "The Wooden Guy" as your title, and then just claim to have accidentally typo'd the title... =] =]

Have the movie picked out, now for the easy part ...
BTW, here's a link for ideas; I'm sure there are tons of other possibilities, but this helped me get started.
