LOL. Just kidding. However, I think that if we did flowers, it might get it out of everyone's system. The title of this challenge could have either been flowers or tomatos. Don't get me wrong, the flower and tomato pictures met the challenge, and were for the most part pleasing to look at. It just gets hard to judge. They could all pretty much be judged the same. It's pretty hard to mess up a flower macro. I mean, it DOES happen, I know. Done it myself a few times, but I was amazed at the amount this week.
I think it would be interesting to do "Out of place". Something that totally doesn't belong in it's surrounding. For example, a guy in the bra section of a department store. We'd have a lot of "doesn't meet challenges though.
I thought about emotions, but that would have too much of a wide range of things and then there is the problem of "doesn't meet challenge".
I missed the "red" challenge, I wasn't a member then, but think that it would be fun. Maybe a different color. One not so common, like Purple.
Have we done animals? I cant remember if I saw that in the archives or not.
"play" would be fun. any type of Play. animals playing, children at play, adults playing.
was signs done??
Maybe "tourist attractions". Could inspire someone to get up and GO somewhere. And maybe even give someone a great idea for a future vacation?? There are so many interesting places that we may never ever hear about let alone SEE.
Who knows. I'm just excited to find out what the next one will be.
2 more hours!! Good luck.

Purple would cause no end of troubles, as digicams can't capture most
shades of purple, for lots of interesting, techy physics reasons

It would drive people insane when they kept shooting things and
not getting what they expected from their camera - perhaps an
instructive lesson but dangerous to mess with the collective

ugh, that's scary! the exact same thought process went through my mind this afternoon (and most of this week, actually) while trying to come up with different places/situations where i could include a pencil in the photo. we all need help! *grin*

I didn't know that about the purple thing, but I was using it as a general suggestion. Orange, or Yellow would work just fine as well. That explains why all my photos of my son on the purple cloth looked like doody. You learn something new every day.
Thanks

flower pictures are OVERDONE. What I mean is that MOST flower pictures on this site are very cliche and non creative... I do like the exceptions though... Ill post some in a minute...

I was being sarcastic in my post. I thought I had made that clear, but I am sorry if I didn't. I did say I was just kidding when I mentioned it. I think it would be really hard to judge and it would get old quick.

Oh? I have made an awful error. Please expand on this.

No need to expand...just try taking a photo of something purple and you'll understand. I have a purple drop cloth and I was taking photos of my sons stuffed animals "posing" in front of it, to get my son excited about posing. Staying still, smiling, looking at the camera etc. The cloth made the objects look distorted and the purple cloth it's self looked like it was all different kinds of colors. I had just gotten my camera, so I thought it was my error. Now I know differently. You have to try it though to get the full extent of the "wrongness" of taking a photo of a lot of purple. LOL

I think the problem is with deep purple. I saw some pics with light purple and it didn't look bad at all. Sorry...forgot that in my last post.

I am getting a kick out of your posts! I can feel your excitment and enthusiasm thru the cable and into my computer, Heather! |-D

Glad to see/hear it!

(Just had to mention that).
;)
Keep the ideas flowing!
