Hello there...

I have tried to take some lunar shots of the moon and eclipses; i've realized that I do not have a strong enough lense for such a shot as the moon is about the size of a quarter.

I am in need of some SUPERB quality, high detail shots of the moon for an album cover. Shots of a lunar eclipse would be a plus as that is the theme of the album.

I am willing to pay $$ (not a lot just a token as I am not making a profit on this endeavor) . However, the photographer's name will appear on the credits for this compilation.

Please PM or email me at: Saj@easternstorm.net

Sincerely,
Jason J. Epperson

PS - I apologize if this is sorta a solicitation, but it is directly related to digital photography. I've tried searching the web but did not find anything I liked. Besides, as a member of this site I'd prefer to use a work by a fellow dpchallenge member than a simple commercial image haus.Saj@easternstorm.net

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

The photos will be used for an upcoming independant compilation release entitled "Lunar Eclipse". It will be a small scale production (1,000 pressings with the possibility of additional pressing down the road) done on a shoe-string budget using amateur talent.

Although this release is an amatuer production (this being my second album cover) I intend for it to be of good quality. For those interested you can see my prior album cover for the band Bridgeshadows. (I believe you will agree that the project came out quite nicely for an amateur independant release.

I am offering out of pocket $50-60 (possibly to be divided between 2-3 photagraphers). Any photo used will receive credit in the liner notes and the photographer will receive a free copy of the CD.

I know this is not a lot of cash. But I also know for many amateur photographers - just having one's name in a CD's credits is a nice thing to have in one's portfolio.

All photographs will need to be high resolution "print quality" for inclusion on the album. It will be necessary to work with the submissions to determine if they meet our needs and payment will be given upon completion of the design to those submissions that were incorporated. We are not seeking an exclusive license so you will retain ownership and all rights. We only need a grant/license for use with this particular album.

Sincerely,
Jason "The Saj" Epperson

There are several good eclipse shots in my portfolio. Perhaps you could use one of those.

Hi Jason

I have lots of lunar eclipse photographs that I took on several occasions with a 300D camera through my telescope here in South Africa. The photographs are 3000x2000 pixels. Full lunar eclipse (moon is red) and partial eclipse (moon partly white, partly red).

The telescope with the 300D acts like a f/4.9 1600mm lens. :-)
Manual focus though, so I link the camera with a USB cable to the notebook so I can check the focus instantly.

Enjoy your day!
