which memory card is recommended for best speed in the d70?

Take a peek at this site. More info than you could want. My personal recommendation would be something liek the Sandisk Ultra II series, very good speed/price combination. the only thing you gain by going faster is xfer speed to the 'pooter, and then only if you use a fast USB2.0 card reader. At today's prices, a couple 1GB cards woudl keep you shooting, even if you shoot RAW.

As kirbic mentioned.....I also use Sandisk Ultra II's and have no complaints.

i use compact flash lexar 40x rorks just fine and the price is dropping fast

I use the Sandisk Ultra II 1 Gig. I have a few of them and love them. Check NewEgg.com for the best prices on the card. The price can change daily from between $79 and $93.50. I got mine for $79 there.

Me and Theodor38 both use scandisk ultra II. Great memory card!

but what is the difference between type 1 & 2 & x30 x40 x80 ultra ultra II
what is faster? ultra II or x80 etc...
i heared even somthing like "extream" card... hmm

Type I is the skinnier ones that came out for the first compact flash devices. Type II are the thicker ones for newer devices. Many newer devices will take both.

the sandisk ultra II's i think are the fastest in the d70. that's what i have, and i highly recommend it. there's definitely a performance difference with the ultra II's over the regular card.
