Looking for a camera for my mom. Doesnt matter how small the MP is, just needs to have a media card she can put in the photo kiosk to print pics and at least built in flash. Nothing fancy just a starter in good shape. Looking for something under $50 and would need it shipped asap to be here before Christmas. HELP! :o)

Thanks

Dana

I think the only thing you'll get under $50 are those new disposable digitals at Wal-Mart :-)

Good luck all the same!

I just got my Oregon-Scientific DS6639 here. It sure isn't the greatest camera in the world but so far I kind of like it. Battery life TOTALLY SUCKS however - you'll need to carry a fistful of rechargeable AAA batteries with it.

It's a bit more that $50 new. Doesn't have many settings besides "on" and "off". Not too good in low light. Flash is one of those red-eye increasing kinds. Recycle time is adequate for snail olympics but not so good for 3-toed sloth events. No zoom except for digital.

I HATE EBAY. I was shopping around and bid on something before I walked out the door to go get my kids at school and I WON, and I wish I hadn't. I didnt have enough time to properly look at the listing.. ugh..

I AM STILL LOOKING...

I might just sell it back on ebay once I get it. I dont think this model allows the sorta cards you can use at the kiosk's. what do you think?

sorry ....
but why are you being so cheap? - buy something that your mum will actually use and a camera which can produce some nice photos

whats the use of buying her a $50 camera that will end up stashed away in a draw somewhere - I recond either buy her
a) a decent camera similar in shape to the old analog ones and with a 3x optical zoom and at least 3MP
or
b) a box of chocalates

Recommended Camera
Canon Powershot A75 Digital Camera

find other ones similar here

I always think its best to buy one great present instead of 20 small crappy presents

does she even have a computer?
you be better off just buying her an analog camera - most of the benifits of the camera lies in the screen - can review on spot, can delete bad photos, can show others the photos in the camera... etc

im pretty sure that camera you bought would not produce photos of any clarity - It looks more like a web cam thing and probally is less than 1MP

I would have no problem buying her a nice camera, I wanted to give her mine and buy a new one when she expressed interest in wanting a digital camera. The reason I am so "cheap" is because my mom is very sick and doesnt leave the house and she wants it more or less to take photos of her cat, its more of a toy kinda thing to her. Also I bought her a motorized bed for christmas already.. Its a long story... but I am far from being cheap.

I'll second the A75. I bought one for my wife a few weeks ago. $199 from Target. She finds it very easy to use, her last camera was a Kodak P&S which we sold on eBay for $90.
