I am very bias when it comes to artists. I have been collaborating with an artist for the past year on a series of slapstick paintings. The paintings are now at the Ricco Maresca Gallery in New York unfortunately they are not yet online. These paintings are also to be part of an upcoming show at the Columbia Museum of Art in July.

In addition to the slapstick paintings we have worked together on, he also has a show that is going on right now at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina, featuring paintings made from internet profiles, this is the press release for that show.

Prior to the slapstick and profile paintings he would take old yearbooks cut up photos out of them and reconstrust them forming new images and put them into collages. These are the artistic endeavors you will see if you check out John Monteith at the Ricco Maresca Gallery.

As I said I am very bias when it comes to artist, I simply adore John's work, and value him as a close friend.

But I can't forget to mention I have a few other favorite artists all of which he has introduced me to via virtual tours of galleries.

April Gornik

Eric Fischl and his painting series THE TRAVEL OF ROMANCE featuring paintings of his wife April Gornik.

Lastly there is the abstract art of Bill Jensen

There you go my four favorite non photography artists, John Monteith, April Gornik, Eric Fischl and Bill Jensen.

I'd have to say I like MC Esher too. What is not to like about his illusional drawings that can captivate the viewer for hours on end.

I like Salvador Dali.... he has done some photography but he's mainly an artist. Very strange and surrealistic work but quite creative

Wow it's very nice! I'd like it! It's look like a abstract writing with the wonderful colors on the backround. (sory for my english I'm limited...)

I have always been influenced by the super-realist painters of the 1960s, many of whom were German. I have tried to find examples to display but without success. As a direct result of that influence, I am very attached to the works of Canada's Mary Pratt

I'm also a big fan of Jasinski's. I think I came across his site a year or two ago when he won 1st and 4th place for a snowboard design contest. His work is incredible.
